Happy Birthday Month Zoë!Michelle Jeffreys
A Milestone Birthday…
This year is one of those milestone years that you look forward to with your kids. The double-digit year, the teenage years, the old enough to drive a car year, then you’re an adult year, and the now I can take you out to a bar and buy you a drink year.
For me, it’s just a reminder that I no longer get to do that with you each year, As most of us, parents who have lost children know all too well. I try hard not to spiral downward, thinking about all that could have been because that does nothing for my mental state or my well-being.
Therefore, we celebrate!
Most of you love to take part in the Random Acts of Kindness fun all year long, and I am truly inspired and amazed at how creative you guys are. Way more creative than I am.
During her birthday month, as most of you know who follows me or who partake each year, we ramp up our efforts and do as many as we can. Posting on social media and celebrating for her. You can find more information here: https://healingthruwellness.com/more/zoes-wish/
Over the years, I have seen treats left at the dog park, coffee stand goodies, donations to homeless shelters and pet shelters. Charitable contributions to her scholarship, meals paid for families with girls who would be around her age: so many beautiful things and the cutest notes and added touches.
It warms my heart to see how much energy you put into these acts of kindness for my girl. How you have made this a part of your families’ lives now. I know you do this because you love my family but it has become more than that, it’s become something to teach your family to pass on to others. It is selfless and life-changing in the smallest of actions, and it does not go unnoticed.
Just a few things to help you get started if you are new to RAKS.

I know how proud Zoë is of our efforts to keep her spirit alive and remembered—providing kindness to others, giving the gift of education to a student in her memory. These are all beautiful things that, as a community, we continue to do in her honor, to celebrate the life she lived.
